Ton Khoon is one of my favourite Thai restaurants. I love the warm atmosphere and that you feel very welcomed by the staff, who are also Thai. The ambiance, decor and setting all contribute to the overall Thai feel and experience. The restaurant is family owned and managed, and they do a good job of it!
As you've probably noticed, I'm a lover of sushi. So naturally, we had to try the sushi as a starter. We had a Spicy Tuna California Roll (see below) which was pricey, but well worth it.
We also tried some Dim Sum. I'm not normally such a fan of this, but the flavours of this particular one (prawn and coriander) were quite good (see below).
For the main course, we had the Basil Crispy Pork and Stir Fried Noodles with Chicken (see below). Both were good, but the Basil Crispy Pork was particularly amazing.
Ton Khoon also has the most amazing duck pancakes, which I definitely recommend. (In fact, I like them so much, that I ate them before I could even take a photo!) The dish consists of about 8 small pancakes and comes with strips of crispy duck, cucumber and spring onion and is served with a plum dipping sauce. Simply fantastic.
